2014 Honda Accord Hybrid - Most Fuel Efficient Full Size Sedan?

An EPA rating of 50 MPG city will make the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid the most frugal four-door sedan in urban environments when it goes on sale on 31st October.

Prices start at $29,155 (plus $790 destination fee) and rise to $34,905 for the top-spec Hybrid Touring model. Combined fuel economy is 47mpg and on the highway the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid manages 45mpg.

All 2014 Accord Hybrid models will be equipped with standard features such as Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot display system, a premium feature Honda claims is not available in any other competitive hybrids on the market. It also gets a rearview camera, LED daytime running lights, expanded view driver’s mirror, and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink.
Comparisons must be drawn with the Ford Fusion Hybrid. While both cars look sharp enough and return identical combined fuel economy figures, the Ford is considerably less expensive, starting at $27,200. Toyota’s Camry Hybrid is also less dear, priced at $26,140, although it can only manage 39mpg highway.

Honda is also generous with standard equipment. The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid comes with iPod integration and dual-zone climate control. Ten-way power adjusted seats and alloy wheels are also standard.
