Only One Biker Arrested So Far for Misdemeanor Charge for SUV Attack Incidents in NYC

More photos from the scene of attack that happened last Sunday afternoon against a innocent family is flowing in.  The man on the ground is Alexian Lien after his face and chest has been slayed and beaten up by a large group of bikers in NYC.

The wife of Lien who was savagely beaten by marauding bikers lashed out at the attackers Thursday, calling them “a mob of reckless and violent motorcyclists.”

Rosalyn Ng, wife of Alexian Lien, said her husband and their 2-year-old child were “placed in grave danger” while out celebrating their anniversary Sunday afternoon.

“Our plan last Sunday was to celebrate our wedding anniversary by having a nice family day out with our 2-year-old daughter,” Ng’s said in a statement released through the family’s lawyers.

“Unfortunately, instead, we were placed in grave danger by a mob of reckless and violent motorcyclists.”
Her hubby, she said, “was forced under the circumstances to take the actions that he did in order to protect the lives of our entire family” and should not be blamed for running over and injuring one of the bikers.
“We know in our hearts that we could not have done anything differently,” Ng said.

The insured biker, Jeremiah Mieses is in critical condition with broken ribs and damaged to his lung, shown above in undated photo supplied by his brother Jared.

Lien was not charged, angering relatives of biker Edwin Mieses, 32, of Lawrence, Mass. Mieses’ mother, Yolando Santiago, said her son is “trying to hang on for dear life", and added, “They’re making the riders out to be bad people. They’re not,” Santiago insisted from her Lawrence home Tuesday.

Mieses’ wife, Dayana Mieses, told The News her husband is in a medically induced coma at St. Luke’s Hospital. “This man needs to know he hurt someone,” she said of Lien.

The Incident:

The couple was driving north on the West Side Highway when the bikers surrounded their Range Rover near 125th Street in Harlem, forcing Lien, 33, to come to a stop.

As several got off their bikes and menacingly approached the vehicle, the panicked dad hit the gas and ran over several bikes and one biker, breaking his legs and leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.
Scores of angry bikers then chased the family more than 50 blocks until he left the highway at West 178th Street in Washington Heights.

One of the thugs then used his helmet to smash open the driver’s side window and yank Lien from the car. He was slashed and pummeled, suffering two black eyes and cuts that needed stitches.

Other raging bikers banged on the windows where Ng and their child were sitting, terrifying the young family.
Ng said she and her husband sympathize with the injured biker, but were facing a “life-threatening situation” and had no choice but to flee.

Lien's wife also thanked several good Samaritans who came to the family’s rescue.

“We would like to thank the brave citizens who risked their own safety to intervene on our behalf. They truly helped save our lives and prevented my husband from suffering further injury. We also appreciate and are moved by the outpouring of love and support so many have expressed here in New York and around the country,” she said in the statement, released by lawyers Nicholas J. Massimo and Frank C. Panetta.
Her husband, Ng said, is still recovering from his injuries.

Cops so far have busted only one biker in connection with the chase, which one motorcyclist captured on a helmet cam video that was later posted on YouTube.

Christopher Cruz, 28, of Passaic, NJ, was freed on $1,500 bond Wednesday on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and unlawful imprisonment.

Cruz, who dropped an F-bomb on reporters as he left court, was the biker who slowed down in front of Lien’s SUV and forced him to stop, cops said.
