The Motorcycle from Future by Lotus is Now Street Legal

A prototype of the highly anticipated bike from Lotus, C-01, is now road registered and ready for action according to a Lotus press release from Feb. 20.

This futuristic motorcycle is developed by Kodewa performance Motorcycles.  The company will be producing only 100 units for the select few buyers who can afford $137,000.

The Lotus C-01 Kodewa Motorcycle is powered by a 1.2-liter V-twin engine that's good for around 200 hp. Unfortunately, Kodewa, which is the manufacturer of the Lotus C-01 bike, did not disclose the weight of their new machine.

We can only speculate that this amazing piece of high-tech ride is lighter than most other motorcycles out there as the body is crafted out of carbon fiber, titanium and aerospace quality steel.

The motorcycle was developed with the help of the Holzer Group.  Kodewa Performance Motorcycles, the manufacture of C-01, actually had a hand in the development of the Lotus T128 race car that competed at the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans.  The design came from the famous German concept designer, Daniel Simon whose work has featured in the movie, TRON.
