2015 Kia Sedona is a New Breed of Minivans

Kia really wants to go head on with the market leaders in minivan segment such as Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey with an introduction of an all-new 2015 Sedona.

First of all, I have to say this is one good looking minivan by not looking so minivan-ish.  The front of the vehicle looks as good as some of the best crossover SUVs, and it does so gracefully.

I have had a minivan in the earlier part of my life, I hated it except for the utility part of the equation; it really can load lots of stuff much better than most other SUVs.  But they all used to have this very distinctive minivan look to them.

The funny thing is that Kia doesn't want to admit that Sedona is a minivan.  It insists they are "midsize multi-purpose vehicle".  That's totally fine by me and seems like an accurate description.

The most surprising part of the re-design can be found inside.  The interior is reminiscent of a luxury sedan rather than a typical minivan.

Front row passengers will be treated to the latest generation of the automaker's excellent UVO infotainment and telematics system with new Geo-fencing, Speed Alert, Curfew Alert and Driving Score features. This is also the first Kia vehicle to feature the new Kia App store that integrates with the iTunes or Google Play stores to bring Google Local Search, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Yelp, and Siri Eyes Free. A high-power, 2.1A USB charging port keeps a paired smartphone's charge topped-off.

Even the kids sitting in the 2nd row seats are not left out.  The seat is designed almost like a business class seat in a airplane with a folding foot rest.  The 2nd rows seating can even slide sideways allowing all type of seat arrangement to match your lifestyle and cargo needs.

Stay tuned for more details.
