Lit Motors Two Wheeled C-1 EV Can Balance Itself

Lit Motor's C-1 looks much closer to being a motorcycle than a car, but the company wants you to believe that it's a car - an electric vehicle.  Sure it does have all characteristics of a car - fully covered, a steering wheel, and it can stand straight on its own - except for having two wheels instead of four.

Lit Motors' C-1 really can't be pushed over, at least without considerable force.  It's one of those things that is hard to believe until you see it with your own eyes.

Lit Motors is currently taking deposits ($250) to guarantee you one of the first 10,000 cars, or double that for one of the first 1,000. 370 deposits have already been placed.

So what's so special about this future EV besides looking cool?  The efficiency must be one of the primary reason. Billed as an ideal commuting tool, just 8 kilowatt-hours of power will take you 200 miles. And the performance isn't to shabby either.  Thanks to its light weight (800 lbs) and excellent aerodynamic, it can do 0-60 mph in just six seconds.

Then here comes the troubling part.  It is estimated to cost around $24,000.  It's understandable that you must pay up if you must have one of those unique product where there is no competition, but that's in the same category as nice compact EVs and hybrid vehicles.

According to CMO of Lit Motors, Ryan James, the company is planning to begin production toward the end of 2014 and start delivering to the customers soon after.

If you want to be the proud owner of one of the most revolutionary vehicle to come out in the decade, you gotta hurry.
