Let's first take a look at what makes a car a great car for the new teen drivers.
  1. You definitely don't want to had over a key to a high powered vehicle to any new driver regardless of the age.  That includes sports and sporty cars that just begs to be driven hard.  In many cases, high speed is what causes accidents.
  2. Not to small and not too big.  Bigger cars with heavier weight and larger dimension create additional challenges.  Even compact SUV are not as safe as sedans with equivalent size due to higher center of gravity.

  4. Excellent reliability - novice and young inexperienced drivers won't be able to react to various situations that arises from malfunctions and defects in the vehicle.
  5. Active and passive electronic safety technology.  At a minimum, anti lock brake and stability control is absolute must.
