7 Inspiring Songs for Morning Commute

Author: Valerie

Alarm goes off.  Hit the snooze button twice.  Realize you are 20 minutes late.  Find out you have no clean clothes to wear.  Spill your coffee on the way out the door.  Go back inside to retrieve your cell phone.  Now, you have to start your morning commute, and let’s be real…you are already feeling stressed and defeated so chances are you are not even in the right mindset to take on the battle known as your morning commute.

Whether you have a 10 minute commute or hour-long drive ahead of you, the music you play makes a difference on your drive and reduces your road rage.  By listening to upbeat songs, you will be more likely to remain in a good mood…even after that car cuts you off.

Morning Commute Playlist

“Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar- Get your road rage out by singing along with Taylor about her bad blood.  After you have finished belting out this tune, you will feel refreshed for the rest of your commute.

“Watch Me” (Whip/Nae Nae) by Silentó- This is the perfect song for a red light dance party…just be sure to keep your nae nae contained to the driver’s seat!

“Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon- If this song doesn’t leave you in a peppy mood and singing along to the radio, no song will.  The perfect blend of upbeat rhythm and catchy lyrics, “Shut Up and Dance” should definitely be played during your morning commute.

“Drag Me Down” by One Direction- Don’t let other drivers drag you down!  It is always smart to remember that while other drivers anger us, we all have probably pulled out in front of someone a time or two before.

“Brother” by Needtobreathe featuring Gavin DeGraw- The bluesy rhythm will have you singing and clapping along while you are in the midst of your drive.  After all, driving in rush hour forms a bond with your fellow commuters so maybe next time, you will actually let the driver beside you over.

“Sugar” by Maroon 5- Who would not want to start their morning off with Adam Levine singing to them?  After listening to “Sugar,” you should be feeling cheerful even after you hit 7 red lights in a row.

“Fight Song” by Rachel Platten- You are one light away from work so now is the time for your morning anthem, and “Fight Song” will leave you feeling ready to conquer the world.
Before your next commute, create a playlist so you can beat the road rage blues and actually enjoy your morning drive.
