Compact hatchbacks come with many benefits as they are marketed as being economical in many aspect: low purchase price, high gas mileage and cheap to maintain in most cases.

However, savings don't mean much if your safety is on the line.  It's especially alarming that the vehicle is developed as a compact family car and marketed as such.

The new car market in countries such as India and China has seen explosive growth in recent years, and this kind of crash test result must be taken seriously by the lawmakers in these countries.
